The Young Brooklyn Artists Studio Fall Classes Starting Soon!

The Young Brooklyn Artists Studio Fall Classes are starting soon in a beautiful community space at Christ Church (corner of Clinton and Kane Streets) in Cobble Hill!

Classes are taught by myself, Ginna Triplett. I am an artist with a BFA from Cooper Union, a NY State certified art teacher with a Master's of Art Education from Brooklyn College, and mother of a middle schooler and a high schooler.

Fall Classes:

Reggio Emilia Style Art Classes for Young Children
Weekday mornings 10 - 11:30am
ages 2-4 (accompanied by parent or caretaker)
Limited to 12 children per class (one caretaker may accompany up to 2 children)

Reggio Emilia is a child-centered, exploration-based, process-focused approach to early childhood education which began in Reggio Emilia, Italy. In these fun, creative and relaxing classes, young children will explore art materials, make discoveries, follow curiosities, develop their creative problem-solving skills, sense of efficacy and capacity for artistic expression and communication. Classes will include a wide variety of projects introducing children to many different art-making materials and methods, both traditional and non-traditional. Parents or caretakers may choose to make projects alongside the children if they wish. Classes will include story time in addition to art exploration. While the Reggio Emilia approach emphasizes the process of creating and learning over the product, children will create many unique, beautiful works of art to take home. In keeping with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, the process of art-making will be documented through photos and explanations about what children are learning which will be posted on the blog. Of course, photos of the children themselves will only be posted with parental permission.

Afterschool Art Club
Weekday afternoons, 3:30 - 5pm (later pick time available for extra fee)

6-12 year olds (Pick up may be available from PS 29)
Limited to 12 students per afternoon
This afterschool art club will be responsive and tailored to the interests of students, providing instruction, guidance and materials needed for students to create unique, personally relevant works of art. This art club will serve as an open studio and young artists' collective of sorts. I will introduce students to various exciting art and craft making methods and materials. Traditional and non-tradition 2D and 3D art and craft making methods will be explored and utilized for students' creative pursuits. Artwork will be posted on the blog and we will have exhibitions in the art club space as well as pursuing other exhibition venues within the community.
